I had been feeling overwhelmed and lost in my business. There were lots of things I wanted to do but no idea how to go about it or what to do first. I booked onto a call with Suzie and knew instantly she was my kind of person. She was so personable and friendly and completely got where I was coming from.
I think I said at the start that I knew that this was not only going to help my business but also be a path to self discovery and I was absolutely right. Working with Suzie for 6 months was the best investment I could do for myself and for my business. When we started our mentoring sessions I was running my family photography for almost 2 years but I still felt that something is just not right and I need more guidance and clarity. Suzie helped me to see my path more clearly and made me realise what I really want to get out of my business and how I can live a whole and happy life as a business owner and private person. She helped me to see how I could fit my business in my busy life as a mum of two.
During our mentoring time together I was able to re-brand my product photography from A to Z too which wouldn't have been possible with her guidance and advice. Her knowledge in photography and business is huge, she has so many practical tips and there is no question she wouldn't have an answer to. She lets you figure out your own answers by asking the right questions and by giving you gentle guidance instead of giving you a one size fits all plan.

Working with Suzie is like studying with a best friend. She explains things in a straightforward way and breaks things down into manageable bits so it is not overwhelming. She also listens when needed and never made me feel like I was silly for asking about things.

I choose to work with Suzie after connecting with her on Instagram over her stories of creativity and baby loss, two things close to my heart. We got chatting and I found her to be a really genuinely kind and helpful person who I had a lot in common with. I read her book ‘The Rallying Cry’ as soon as it was released and her passion to make something good come out of heartache really spoke to me. I found her content really relatable and felt with her background of working in the photography industry for many years, if anyone could help me out of my ‘ I can’t do this’ attitude, it was her.
I always really looked forward to our sessions together. Having someone to talk to about all the worries and questions you have around your photography business who’s ‘been there and done that’ without being smug or ever making you feel silly, is fabulous. Suzie managed to get me to dig deep into my why and what I want my business to be, I honestly don’t think I could’ve done that on my own or from a book. There was so much to go through in each session and keep me busy until the next session, but never to an un-manageable level. Suzie’s inbox is always open which is also really helpful to bounce ideas back and forth, especially when you suddenly think of something and don’t want to wait until you next speak. I felt very comfortable working with Suzie but also that she wanted to push me, in a nice way, with my best interests at heart.
From working on my brand values and my why, things have started moving and I have manageable tasks to complete to get me where I want to be. Working with Suzie was like having a best mate with all the inside knowledge, ready to share it with you. At the same time, she is structured and professional, so our sessions were really jam-packed to address all the different questions I had and the areas I wanted to work on.
She also prompted me to think about things I hadn’t even considered, which were some of the most insightful parts of our sessions. After each session I came away with a manageable list of things to work on, with Suzie to help keep me on track and answer questions. This approach really helped me to make tangible progress- I feel I am much further forward in my business than I was previously.
